Edyn
There is a $10 material fee for this workshop
Hello! I’m Edyn. My father’s family is Ukranian and Lower Simikameen. My mother’s family is Kalinago Arawak and Chinese from Antigua and Anguilla. I identify as mixed-race Afro Indigenous.
During my academic journey, I served as the Traditional Area Coordinator for the First Peoples House of Learning, where I collaborated closely with Knowledge Holders, Elders, and students from diverse Indigenous Backgrounds. I received my BA in Indigenous Environmental Studies from Trent University in 2017.
My professional experience extends to educational projects with the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority and the Durham District School Board, where I contributed to various initiatives aimed at enhancing environmental and cultural education.
Most recently I worked with the Indigenous Education Department at Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board (KPRDSB), supporting Indigenous students and families from kindergarten through grade 12. My role involved fostering student success and ensuring a person-centered approach within the circle of supports.
Additionally, I have had the privilege of working with the PINE Project, where I helped connect children with nature through an Indigenous perspective. This role allowed me to merge my passion for the environment with educational outreach.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time on the land with my partner, engaging in sustainable harvesting and crafting projects from natural materials. My experience on the land and Sen’klip Teachings have deeply informed my understanding of child development and family support, reinforcing the significance of hearing, understanding and valuing each child’s perspective, and their closeness to Creator. I am enthusiastic about contributing to the Indigenous community and look forward to the opportunities ahead.
Kate
Kate is a multi-creative who loves to (re)unite folks with their own creative passions. When we’re in touch with our creative flow, we dance with creation in a way that allows our fullest expression to emerge as we serve our families and communities as well as ourselves. Kate loves to sing, make art out of the everyday, laugh and stand in wonder at the awe and beauty of creation.

Kim
I love offering the opportunity and permission to explore and discover the movement that our magnificent and mysterious bodies are capable of. Nature speaks in movement and to invoke that movement in my own body, becoming Nature, I can open to a communion of resonance. That is what I am most passionate about. I have taught Continuum for 30+ years, in Europe and North America. For a more in depth explanation of Continuum please visit http://www.redcanoestudio.com/continuum.html, and
